Connor Smith of 'Are You The One?' has been arrested and charged with raping and sexually assaulting a teenager. Here is all you need to know about the case.

Connor Smith is a television personality who participated as a cast member on Season 3 of "Are You the One?" He was 25 years old and from Tinley Park, Illinois, in the United States when he appeared on the show.

In 2021, the 31-year-old is accused of forcing a young girl to perform a sex act on him immediately after getting into his pickup truck in Hobart on July 16 and moving her to follow him to a hotel.

According to authorities, Illinois resident Connor Smith was detained on Thursday on suspicion of flying to Hobart last summer to rape and sexually attack a 16-year-old girl he met online.

He was detained and sent to the Cook County Jail, where he will remain until extradited to Lake County.

He is accused of pulling or guiding the girl back to the bed, forcing her to perform a sex act, strangling her for struggling, and then raping her again.

Smith was identified after the girl's relative provided authorities with his car plate number while dropping her off. According to DNA tests, Sith was the most likely match with the girl's sexual assault kit.

Is He Sentenced To Jail?

Information about Connor's Jail sentence is yet to be released. Moreover, the court has yet to make a judgment on it.

On December 10, he was charged with felony rape, sexual assault, and two counts of criminal confinement.

According to court papers, the girl first told police that Smith reportedly pulled her out of a window at her Hobart home by her hair before the alleged rape, but she then said she made up that part of the story because she didn't want to get in trouble for sneaking out.

A spokeswoman for the US Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force said Smith was apprehended on Thursday in the 4700 block of West 101st Street in Oak Lawn.

Smith was arrested and brought to the Cook County Jail, where he will be extradited to Lake County.
